ECOAQUA S.A. Calarasi, as beneficiary of the grant contract, financed by the European Union Cohesion Fund, under the Environment Sectoral Operational Programme, for the project "Extension and rehabilitation of water and wastewater systems in Calarasi County», Project Code no. CCI 2007 RO 161 PR 003, announces the completion and final acceptance of the works for the contract "Extension and rehabilitation of water captation and treatment systems in Budesti, Oltenita, Fundulea, Lehliu cities", on 19.07.2016.

The final value of the work performed is 21.472.622,71 lei, without VAT, out of which 81.84% is financed by the European Union Cohesion Fund, 12.52% by the State Budget, 1.93% by the Budesti, Oltenita, Fundulea and Lehliu cities Local Budgets, and 3.72% by ECOAQUA SA`s budget.

Out of the final value of the work performed, the amount of 3.018.130,79 lei, without VAT, is the value of investments in Oltenita city, the amount of 8.839.313,43 lei, without VAT, is the value of investments in Lehliu city, the amount of 5.525.437,79 lei, without VAT, is the value of investments in Budesti city and the amount of 4.089.740,70 lei, without VAT, is the value of investments in Fundulea city.

The contract execution duration was 32 months, with the Defects Notification Period of 23 months from the date of issue of the Taking-Over Certificate.

Object of the contract was the extension and rehabilitation of water treatment plants including production systems for Budesti, Oltenita, Fundulea and Lehliu cities, including: design, obtaining approvals, rehabilitation of existing construction, new construction, capitation lines, water storage tanks, treatment plants and pumping stations, adduction pipelines, drinking water pipeline from the pumping station to the drinking water distribution network and SCADA system for the entire water supply systems, operational staff training, testing and commissioning.

Main results from implementing the contract are:
- Ensuring compliance with the national and European legislation, in the transition periods, as agreed between Romania and the European Union, for the environment sector;
- Increased security of the supply of drinking water and ensuring the quality of the drinking water provided to the entire population of Budesti, Oltenita, Fundulea and Lehliu-Gara cities.
