Project financed by the European Union through Cohesion Fund under Environmental Sector Operational Program 2007 - 2013 1st Axe: "Extension and modernization of water and wastewater systems".
Location: Calarasi, Oltenita, Lehliu-Gara, Budesti and Fundulea, in Calarasi county and Urziceni in Ialomita county.
Objectives: The project "Extension and rehabilitation of water supply and sewerage systems in Calarasi county" is an investment programme in potable water treatment and distribution and in collection, treatment and disposal of wastewaters. This investments will be implemented in Calarasi and Oltenita municipalities together with Lehliu-Gara, Budesti, Fundulea localities in Calarasi county and in Urziceni municipality in Ialomita county. On completion of the project, the entire population of these locations will be connected to centralised water supply and sewerage systems and compliance with all relevant EU directives will be achieved. The public company with responsability for the provision of water and wastewater services in the project areas is SC ECOAQUA SA.
